WP Sports Council
Students undertake Co-op/Experiential Training from 01 July to 31st December 2014. A minimum number of 25 hours per week would ensure students are busy; this is dependent on the workstation.
We can not compel workstations to pay salaries but request transport assistance for students from R1000.00 per month to assist with transport
Students who are required to perform admin related tasks will benefit greatly from a pc/printer/telephone, etc.
It would be greatly appreciated if workstations in broader Cape Town and Boland are identified as we service Mowbray and Wellington Campuses.
In essence; the Third Year Sports Management students are required to work in a Sports related environment/Industry for a period of 6 months from July to December 2014; whilst on Experiential Training students are required to document their experience and submit a portfolio shortly after completion. We encourage students to foster optimal learning experiences by ensuring that their activities and tasks comply with the Learning Areas/outcomes.
Employers/Work station monitor student performance by signing off weekly work records and at the end of the 6 months a performance appraisal needs to be complete by the workplace supervisor. Students also present the Trainer Provider and Memorandum of agreement at the start of their Internship to confirm their placement has been confirmed.
